Music has changed dramatically over the last 100 years. Not only in the way music is played but the sound its self. Music use to be bought on records and played on a record player. There were also radios that played music. The radio in the beginning was mostly used for story telling. Where as now, it's used for news and music round the clock. There's even services you can purchase that have no commercials or news. We also have CD's and IPODS and MP3 players now that allow us to play music. Not to mention we have the internet and MTV.

The article I read discusses the link between country music and suicide rates. It explains that a lot of country music talks about similar life situations such as divorce, southerness, poverty, and gunavailability. The connections between the two is being explored. The model shows that 51% of the variance in urbanwhite suicide rates. It states that already suicidal people are being pushed over the edge when hearing these type of songs.

Newspaper

Not to toot my own horn, but I really liked my groups idea, the touch screen newspaper. I honestly believe that something similar will be put on the market, maybe even in the near future. It's very practical and eco friendly. It also allows the whole world to use it. It's just a neat concept. As far as the tartan goes, i've never read it. It's just not something i'm interested. Anything good that happens here we receieve an email anyways. I'd be more interested if it included outside school information. Like maybe the election, or what our generation is doing to be involved in the election.

Magazines play a small part in my life. I have a subscription to cosmo. I enjoy this magazine for the latest fashions, gossip and latest diet fads or workouts. I also really enjoy the funny stories and the romantic ones. I usually read these magazines or road trips or when there's nothing on tv. Books have never really been a part of my life. I've only read two books without having to be told. So no, nothing I read has really influenced who I am. And from what I can remember, I don't think any of my schools ever had a book banned.

I watch tv about six hours a day. I'm on my cell phone most of the day whether it's texting or it's on the phone. Usually with my mother or best friend nikki. :) I don't usually listen to the radio unless i'm stuck in traffic and want to know what's going on. I'm on the internet probably about 4 hours and i'm usually watching the TV while i'm doing so. Most of the day i'm using some form of media.
